The internship program at the American Cancer Society provides an opportunity for people to make a difference as they gain
valuable hands-on experience and a greater understanding of the Society’s mission.
What Can Our Internships Offer You?
Both paid and unpaid internships are available throughout the year. During their eight-week sessions, interns will obtain
valuable benefits including:
- Hands-on experience in the activities of a nonprofit
- A chance to develop new skills while using current skills
- Expanded personal networks and social connections that may open doors to future career paths
- In-depth knowledge of the American Cancer Society—who we are, what we do, and how we do it

The internship program welcomes full-time undergraduate and graduate students who:
- Have completed their freshman year of college
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 or a B average
- Demonstrate a relationship between their projected major and the work of the American Cancer Society
We have internships available in a range of areas, from research to media relations, from health promotions to international
affairs. With so many opportunities available, you can find the internship that meets your individual career goals and interests.
